Secret Screening at RVCA

Photo: Lenny Mesina

On Sunday night we held a little secret screening of the Beautiful Losers documentary at RVCA headquarters. We've been working on this movie for like four years or something, so it's nice to have it to a place where it's (somewhat) audience worthy.

Invitations were sent out to a small group of lucky individuals who so awesomely braved the cold and rain in a concrete garage to come watch with us.

Finally, after a few technical difficulties, the screening went off without a hitch, and from what we could tell the crowd liked it at least enough to stay in their seats for 90 minutes.
Not sure when this little baby will be ready for public comsumption, but stay tuned for updates. We hope soon.

We're Back!!

If you're bummed because we haven't posted in almost two weeks we apologize. Our server switched on us and we didn't know how to log in to the new one until today. If it makes any difference we were sick of looking at that damn Sundance picture too!!

The photo above is by Jeaneen Lund. For a few years now, Jeaneen's been documenting the dedicated group of Morrissey/Smiths fans in Los Angeles' Latino community. As you can see from the evidence here, the photos are amazing. Her work is going to be on display starting on the 25th (along with a documentary film on the same subject by Jessica Hundley) as part of the exhibition Ten Years/Ten Curators at Colette in Paris. I'm going over, so look for a post from Paris soon. -Aaron

RVCA x SUNDANCE

Last week a bunch of us got on planes and flew to Park City, Utah for the Sundance film festival. We were all there cause RVCA/ANP Quarterly hosted a huge party there at this crazy nightclub with performances by Money Mark and Mickey Avalon. The whole shinding was very "VIP" with special laminates, tough doorguys, and lots and lots of "hollywood types" trying to cram in the space. The scene was nuts.

Here's that photo...yes, the photo you always see of Sundance. Yes...we were there.

We blew up these massive weather balloons and hung them from the ceiling all over the space and then projected images of RVCA artists, Japanese handicapped wrestlers, scenes from H.R. Pufinstuff and Black Power marches on them. I think they tripped people out...that was the idea at least.

Money Mark took the stage and the crowd went nuts!! He played a bunch of songs off his new amazing album "Brand New By Tomorrow" It comes out soon and you have to buy it. He ended his set with a projection screen coming down and then he played a few scenes from his original score to the Beautiful Losers movie...I was so excited I forgot to take a photo of that.

All these people are VIP's.
